Timber Springs is a not-for-profit community embracing the spirit of lifelong learning in Nacogdoches, TX, home of Stephen F. Austin State University. Members of Timber Springs will have their own ID cards and Program Coordinator who will coordinate all Learning Lasts a Lifetime Programs with both Timber Springs and the Nacogdoches community. Learning Lasts a Lifetime is an informal, flexible, non-competitive environment enhancing learning and allowing your educational experience to be personally designed and defined by each Member. This program is intended to fulfill the desire of continued learning and intellectual growth. We believe that an active mind is the gateway for staying youthful.
 Timber Springs members will have the opportunity to explore a wide variety of topics and areas of interest with the Learning Lasts a Lifetime Program. Through the Program Coordinator, members will have the ability to either select from scheduled programs or to create new programs of their own. They may even choose to teach or lead programs in areas of their own special interest or expertise. The 40-seat Media and Lecture Hall will be used to host many Learning Lasts a Lifetime Programs plus there is the Creative Arts Studio, the Performance Arts Center, and the Fitness Club depending on the nature of the program.
Learning Lasts a Lifetime includes the following: |
- Taking courses at Stephen F. Austin State University
- Attending collegiate cultural performances, academic lectures, athletic events and art exhibits
- Hosting academic and arts events on the Timber Springs campus
- Providing internships for Stephen F. Austin State University students allowing the leaders of today to mentor the leaders of tomorrow. Some of these may include:

Specific programs and a series of short classes are being created in order to launch Learning Lasts a Lifetime at Timber Springs.
